I thought that keeping a personal blog on my current site would probably be the most effective way to document my upcoming work, thoughts, talks and ideas - and keep me looking like I'm actually doing things presently. I love shouting into the ether; I have a knack for rambling, so hopefully I'll be able to contribute some more meaning and insights.
Today, I decided to buy an original Xbox copy of The Warriors (2005) developed by Rockstar Toronto. I used to own a copy on the Playstation 2 when I was a kid, and I really have wanted to revisit this title for awhile. Around maybe six or seven years ago I had the pleasure of watching the film for the first time (and I would now go as far as to say that it's one of my favourite films), so it would be nice to replay this title with that perspective.
I've recently been replaying another childhood game, Bratz: Rock Angelz (2005), developed by Blitz Games. Looking into this studio more online, it would appear that they have coincidentally developed quite a few titles that I've played in the past, so it might be fun to look into some of these other games while I'm at it. I've recently been on a little bit of a nostalgia trip, and it's been interesting to see how revisiting some of these titles has really inspired me. I'll be touching on this in a little bit more depth at a talk I'm doing next week at the University of Glasgow's new Advanced Research Centre for Mixed Reality Scotland - please sign up here if you're interested!
I would also like to use this space to provide information on my website as I construct and build it. As you may have noticed, there are a few pages void of info with their projects. I'm hoping to update this over the next few days as I prepare for my talk, but I'll provide updates to what's new here as I have them.
I'm currently working on an unannounced project, and I'm really hoping to be able to share more with you soon. I've been feeling very positive about the direction I want to take some of my future games into - there where many things I never had the time to create whilst studying, so taking the time to revisit some concepts has been refreshing and challenging. I'm hoping positive things for the future.
